Minature Pineapple in the Rain

Miniature Pineapple (Ananas nanus) a smaller cousin to the common edible pineapple, it grows to 18 inchs tall, with spider-like, strappy leaves with small spines. The plant will produce an upright stalk topped with flowers that fuse to form a miniature pineapple about the size of a golf ball. Just one of the many wonders to enjoy when you tour the gardens at Carambola Botanical Gardens.

Carambola Gardens "Dancing Ladies" Orchid
This orchid is appropriately named as the top looks like a lady with outstretched arms with a skirt-shaped lip below.
With a gentle breeze the blossoms look like a whole troupe of dancers!
